My daily go to Make-up Products

Beauty, New Blogger

Hey All,

I am back with another beauty blog except instead of reviewing a product I thought I would tell you what I use on a daily basis.

First Step – Get that face ready

After washing my face, I use my Dermalogica Clear Start Daytime Treatment & use that all over my face, once I have rubbed that in completely I use Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer to prime my face. Both of these products I use all the time and are my holy grail products.

Second Step – Foundation & Concealer

The foundation that I am currently using is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless in the shade 120 Classic Ivory (Normal to Oily), I previously used just the Fit Me which I also liked I have always manly used Maybelline products on my face. I have wanted to try alternative high end products but to be honest they are so expensive that I worry about the colour and what it will look like. I think when you have used one particular brand for so long it’s sometimes hard to change it up. Next I go in with my Maybelline Super Stay 24H Concealer, I take this under my eyes in a triangle shape and do three lines on my forehead.  I then blend that in with currently a cheapo wedge from I think Kmart as my beauty blender was recently destroyed by my sisters dog ( AHHH) To set the concealer I use the Sephora Beauty amplifier smoothing & brightening powder on a cheap beauty blender & the Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying powder to set the rest of my face, I do this using the Real Techniques Powder Brush.

Third Step – Contour & Blush

So for work I don’t typically use the glow kit, just because it’s expensive and I just like to do a basic look for work as a glam make up look isn’t really required. My next go to is the Models Prefer Contour Collection in the powder form. I take the lightest counter shade and apply that to my cheek bones and I also then apply it to my temples I use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush to blend that in. I then use Maybelline Master Hi-Light blush in the colour Coral as my blush & that to my cheeks with a Real Techniques Blush Brush. Lastly to highlight that face I use my Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in the shade Luminous and I apply that with a Real Techniques Setting Brush, I take the highlight on to the bridge of my nose, cupids bow, under my eyebrows & above my contour on the cheek bones.

Fourth Step – Brows & Eyes

For my eyes as I’m only going to work I normally don’t put on an eye shadow as that’s another thing that I have to do and who can really be bothered, but the eye shadow palette that I use on those days I can be bothered is the Maybelline The Nudes, just using a Real Techniques shading brush. If I don’t put on any eye shadow then I will put on the Rimmel Soft Kohl eye liner pencil just to have something there to darken up my eyes. For my brows I use the Maybelline Brow precise, lastly for my mascara which this is something that I need to get better at as I honestly suck at applying it but I use the Too Faced Better than Sex which I find is good for me even though I do it really crap it still manages to look good.

Final Step – Set

To set it all so it stays all day I use the Australis Make Up Finishing Spritz which I know I have raved about in a previous blog but it is honestly amazing!!

That’s it, that’s my go to make up products for a daily makeup look for work.

Let me know if you try any of the above products I have mentioned or if you have any Mascara applying tips I would love to hear them.

PS: Sorry for the horrible photos as you can see I use all of these products a lot.

  1. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the better than sex mascara for ages! I’m pretty awful at applying mascara so if you say if can still make your lashes look good when you don’t do the best job, maybe that’s perf for me!

  2. Can’t go wrong with Maybelline! Most high end brands will have testers you can try out if you don’t want to shell out on a full bottle of the stuff! My faves are Armani Luminous Silk and Estée Lauder Doublewear! ❤️

  4. That Urban Decay highlighter is to die for! I love it. As for mascara, I’d say when you take out the wand, wipe a little on a tissue so that there’s not too much product. That way you can apply more layers, and make sure you’re lightly applying some to the tips! Also wiggle the wand as you brush it through. Water proof mascara tends to hold a curl better too (:
